There are seasons in life when everything feels certain, familiar, and predictable. And then there are seasons when life gently or suddenly asks us to let go of what once felt safe.
Change is one of the few constants we all share. Yet even knowing that doesn’t always make it easier.
Our natural instinct is often to resist. We cling to old versions of ourselves, relationships, routines, or expectations because they are familiar. But resistance can create more tension than the change itself.
What if, instead of resisting, we practiced allowance?
Allowance is not giving up. It is not passive acceptance or pretending everything is okay. Allowance is the quiet willingness to acknowledge what is present without immediately trying to fix, fight, or control it.
It is saying, “This is where I am right now, and I allow myself to be here.”
When we allow life to unfold, we create space. Space for healing. Space for clarity. Space for the next step to reveal itself naturally.
Like a river, life is always moving. Water doesn’t argue with the rocks in its path, it flows around them. Sometimes gently, sometimes powerfully, but always moving forward.
We, too, are invited to flow.
As you move through this week, notice where you may be gripping too tightly. Is there a thought, expectation, fear, or outcome you’re trying to control? Take a slow breath and ask yourself:
What would it feel like to soften?
Healing often begins not when everything changes, but when our relationship with change does.
May you trust that every ending is making space for a beginning you cannot yet see. May you allow yourself to release what no longer serves you, welcome what is arriving, and remember that you don’t have to force your path, you only have to stay present enough to walk it.
